All of Ontario, even all the world has been rocked by the effects of Covid-19, and the real estate markets are no exception! There are a historic low amount of listings in Ontario, and in Muskoka it is true too! Early in spring 2020 the 'cottage' properties that came on the market sold very quickly --especially in the $400K$650K price range. Some sold in the first few days with multiple offers, some sold quickly with sub-list-price offers. One thing that is sure, is that there is no consistency with the spring 2020 cottage market. The residential market has many people waiting to make decisions on their move. Uncertainty with work, family, finances is common, and making a major decision about the purchase or sale of a home is even harder in the Covid-19 economy. Toronto and GTA residents are hoping to head away from the city to play or to live, and there is still a strong appeal to Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville as year-round places to raise a family or retire away from the "city".
