The market is still high, low inventory (which is normal for Muskoka mid-winter) and buyers are paying top dollar for Muskoka property --- waterfront, acreage, and residential.
There is no doubt that it's a good time to be a Seller, and a challenging time to be a Buyer!
It's generally not a good time to purchase a waterfront property or acreage when there is ice on lake, or snow blanketing the land --it's hard to determine waterfront characteristics or see hidden problems on land. This is not stopping some owners from selling, having multiple offers, and buyers paying much over list price for many properties. My guess is there will be a fair bit of buyer's remorse in the next few years, especially with some of the cottage purchases.
Pricing in spring 2021 will start off based on these few winter sales, and prices will be high, with sellers hoping for multiple offers thru April, May, June.
If you have a property to sell in Muskoka, don't hesitate to reach out to me for an idea on what the current value is. It is more than it was this time last year, without a doubt!
