There's a regular seasonal swing in Muskoka with little activity from December to February/March.
Spring 2024 had a large glut of waterfront listings come on the market with prices not having adjusted much since 2023. Buyers were active, but NOT offering on properties as much as in previous years. They were seeing the properties, but not OFFERING on them. There was a general feeling among buyers that prices and interest rates would continue to fall.
Interest rates have declined, but prices have NOT come down as much as those buyers thought they might.
Housing prices have come down more than cottage prices, and there are some better options for buyers than there were in the past few years!
